Hobbies

I consider some of my hobbies to be unique, almost bordering on weird, but the experiences they gave me shaped my life for the better.

Performing Classical Music on Bassoon

I have been playing bassoon since 2009, and it has since been a creative outlet for me. I am so lucky to call myself a bassoonist, and for all of the experiences and people I have met along the way. Traveling the world performing some of the most revered works ever created, while speaking out to given women composer and musicians the credit they deserve for shaping the musical landscape, gives me great joy.

Practicing Traditional Tea Ceremony

At Penn State I joined, and later was Executive Director of, the Traditional Tea Clubs at Penn State. Between experiencing centuries old art and culture, traveling the world, and tasting some of the best tea ever made, I believe there is no greater gift to the world than a good cup of tea.

Exploring the Outdoors

Hiking, biking, and running through the woods and up mountains is a hobby I didn't develop until I was on co-op in Utah. Truly no better place to begin experiencing all nature has to offer, I now spend most of my weekends exploring with my fiancé and my beagle, Macey.
